Andrew Herrmann

Andrew majors in Health Promotion and Health Equity and aspires to become an Occupational Therapist who specializes in working with individuals facing mental health challenges. He hopes that one day he would be able to integrate exercise and movement-based interventions into therapy in order to support physical and emotional wellbeing. Andrew has a personal connection to the lab’s research, and developed a deep passion for supporting people with mental health challenges. What started as simply as jogging for Andrew, eventually transformed into a genuine passion for all forms of movement. Andrew hoped to find a way to combine his passions of mental health and movement and was excited for the opportunity to connect his personal experience with meaningful research that could truly make a difference. His favorite way to stay active is all forms- whether it is hunting, fishing, biking or hiking. He especially enjoys powerlifting and running, and finds it really rewarding to be challenging himself physically and seeing progress over time!
